About Me

Hey friend!

I'm glad that you've popped over here to learn a bit more about who I am and if I'll be a good fit for you! A little bit about me in general - I come from a family of two kids, where I'm the oldest (very apparent in my personality LOL). My parents both have military backgrounds. My Dad served 26 years in the Army, so I grew up an Army brat; and my Mom served in the British Army before leaving service to marry my Dad (can you believe they met in Germany in the late 80s?!). My Mom is from Scotland (born and raised) and we still have family there. And yes, it is one of my favorite places to go in the world, I absolutely love it there. I was lucky enough to attend middle school and high school on the same base, which is not something a lot of military brats can boast. I was a total nerd and an avid lacrosse player. After high school, I attended the University of Pittsburgh (main campus in Oakland) for four years where I majored in psychology and minored in sociology and criminal justice. During my time at Pitt, I joined Kappa Delta Sorority and today I'm proud to serve my chapter as an advisor. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Nick, since September 2020, and we had our incredible son, Elliot, in December of 2023.

My interest in photography started when I was in college. I never thought that it would be anything more than a hobby that brought me peace and something that got me out of the house. My family moved after my senior year of high school so going home on college breaks meant going to a place where I didn't know anyone at all. So, I'd grab my camera, travel around to nearby places, and take photos. Over time, I got involved in modeling and acting, then I taught modeling and acting classes for a while. Eventually my job experiences led me into property management, which is what I do now.

I met Nick in 2018 when he started attending the church I was going to at the time. As we started dating, we had fun showing each other around our perspective cities/hometowns, sharing our love of photography. While we were dating, we both began serving more at church and growing into leadership opportunities. Nick started to get more into photography and started serving on the creative team at church. As his love started to grow from photography into videography, I felt the pull to get back into photography. As I served on the photo and video team, my interest, passion, and skillset grew. Church photography taught me how to keep my eyes open and head moving so that I could capture those moments that others might miss. It also taught me how to best stay under the radar, and both of those things help immensely on a wedding day! In 2021, Nick and I were going back and forth about launching our business. We were actually at a concert for a Christian group when a girl near us came over and gave us a word! After lots of consideration and prayers, that word gave us the encouragement that we needed to pull the trigger and launch Pike Photo and Video. We started this business as a husband and wife team, and even though I am now the solo face of the business, Nick will always be the biggest supporter behind the scenes.

I'm beyond blessed to be able to do something that I love and brings me so much joy. I love working with my clients and I'm excited to continue to grow this business through life's ever changing seasons. I promise to always do my best to accommodate my clients while also being the best wife, Mama, daughter, sister, friend, and person I can be. I may not be perfect all the time, but beauty is in imperfections and we're all humans. I hope you come along for the ride!

God Bless,

Kazzandra
