These are our photos from our trip to Scotland for anyone who wants a sneak peek into our personal lives. You'll see that we stayed local to my Mom's hometown of Paisley because this trip was about celebrating my Nana's birthday and having her spend time with our son, her great-grandson. -Kazzandra

Paisley
We spent our first day with family and exploring my Mom's hometown of Paisley, just outside Glasgow.

Glasgow & my Nana's Surprise 80th Birthday Party
On my Nana's birthday, we went to a local mall and then spent a brief amount of time in Glasgow, wandering around the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum. Later that night, we surprised my Nana with a party to celebrate her 80th birthday. It was so much fun getting to celebrate with her and to see her have so much fun with her family and friends!

Paisley
Another day in Paisley. We got lunch, shopped a bit, relaxed, and even went on a search for a Xenomorph! This "gargoyle" was added during a restoration project in the early 1990s. Of the 20 proposals shown, 12 were selected. The creator believed the xenomorph design would be rejected but much to his surprise, it was one of the designs selected! You can read more about it HERE!

Glasgow
The next day we hopped a train to Glasgow to explore. We did a hop on hop off bus tour (always a personal favorite wherever we travel) where we did not hop off or back on anywhere. We rode that tour the whole way 'round! One of my biggest suggestions whenever you travel is to do at least one guided tour, and ask the tour guide where you should eat. Ours recommended The Piper Whisky Bar and it was amazing! So amazing, that we ended back there the next day! Below you'll see a photo of a statue with a traffic cone on his head. This is the equestrian statue of the Duke of Wellington. Locals would consistently place a traffic cone on the Duke's head every time the local government removed it so eventually they left it there! It's considered a symbol of Glasgow's unique sense of humor.

Edinburgh & Glasgow
Ahhh Edinburgh (pronounced Ed-in-BRA please people, not Ed-in-Boro). The last time we were here we were sans children and let's just say we forgot how hilly and non-stroller friendly this place is. (Pittsburgh does not stand a chance with these hills!) We made it up to Edinburgh Castle, only to find that all the tours were sold out (pre-book people!) so we proceeded to find a place to eat. When we couldn't find a place that had space for us or the stroller, we decided to call it a day in Edinburgh. We headed back to Glasgow, and ended up back at...you guessed it, The Piper Whiskey Bar!
